October STEM DAY

Our October STEM DAY was October 3rd from 10:00-12:00am. Thank you Ms. Dislen for volunteering. Students were challenged to make the tallest stable tower they could with 25 gumdrops and 50 toothpicks. They worked in groups of 4. It was a great opportunity for students to collaborate and work on a project together. The goal of STEM is to problem solve. We also had a guest speaker who talked about how he used science, technology, engineering, and math in his job. He was a mechanical engineer at Kimberly Clark.

Students went through the Engineering Design Model which is Ask, Imagine, Research, Plan, Create, Improve. We started our STEM Day by listening to Mr. Pinnock read Iggy Peck Architect.

Our next STEM DAY will be the first Friday in November. We hope to see you there!
